Photography is far more than documenting the moment. Like a poem, a photograph is a recording of our own vision or unique way of seeing. The image may well be representational of the scene, but we are always filtering that scene through our own sensibilities.
This website of fine-art images is a collection of scenes photographed over the past 20 years that still resonate for me. From walking in my back yard in Washington state during an early snow to standing near eagles or brown bears in Alaska, from loud, raging waterfalls to soft autumn leaves, from Montana's summer-arid Blackfoot River valley to the rocky Burren in western Ireland, these are among the many images that have found me that come the closest to the feelings of being there. I hope you enjoy them.
